The motability scheme
If you receive the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance or the War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement, you can get your driving lessons for free!
If you are aged 16 to 24, subject to certain conditions, if you are on the higher rate motability allowance you can get up to 52 paid hours of driving lessons paid for by the Government.
Not only that but you can also get a lot of money towards a car either to purchase or on contract hire. You can find out about eligibility and how the car scheme works here.
Pauline passed her test with us and picked up her brand new silver Peugeot 207 car which she
obtained under the motability scheme on June 30th 2009. We were able to arrange the whole thing for her and then gave her a lesson in her brand new car!
